| 2008 Sk. Can. in Ottawa Ontario Oct.29-Nov.2 at Scotiabank Place Arena.
I"m going! I got my Sakting tickets in the mail last week Mon. Sept.15/08 & I booked my flight on Sat. Sept. 20/08.
I'm sharing a room at the Country Inn Hotel & Suites with a lady from Saskatoon.
Anyone else going to the comp.?

| No, but I'm still checking air fares in hopes that they'll be insanely low and I won't be able to resist. Hopefully IceNetwork ends up working out so I can watch live. | |

| Hope everyone that's going has fun! I had hoped to go but school and the lack of good flights got in the way. I'll be watching from icenetwork (if they ever get their subscription info up..). | |

| As far as I know, it's still only a rumor, but apparently Tessa has an injury (arm?) and they might withdraw from Skate Canada. | |

| Also Cathy & Chris Reed (JPN) Ice Dancers have been scratched. Also Karel Zelenka (ITA) Men's has withdrawn. He announced yesterday that he has retired for an indefinite time. I don't know his reason yet. He announced in Italian on his homepage forum. The forum manager was waitng for him to make it official before posting it in English on his forum. Link to Karel Zelenka fan forum is: http://karel-zelenka-fan-group.chapso.deWhoa!! All the sudden, unexpected & last minute withdrawals & changes to the Sk. Can. is sending my brain into a tailspin not to mention hurtful to my soul. I just hope all the skaters recuperate quickly, but, most importantly do what is best for themselves.

| Wow - what a different competition from the one envisioned a few months ago.
It will be interesting to see the ice-dance placements with Scott and Tessa out of the picture. | |
