The Great Skate Debate

So, me and this guy at work got into a heated debate, which every figure skater in exsistance has got into at some point or another. This guy said "why do figure skaters need the ice, the hockey players are actually going somewhere" implying that figure skating its "their" ice. I dont know about your city, but our cities hockey team was founded 30 years after our skating club. Has anyone else ever had this fight? lol
