| Canada already had great results at the first JGP of the season. In Ladies, Diane Szmiett took bronze, while Rylie McCulloch-Casarsa (6th in novice at nationals last year) was seventh. (She's only 14!). Kharis Ralph and Asher Hill were 2nd in ice dance. Paul Poirier competed in men's singles and came 10th. He probably could have been higher, but his FS was not the best. He's actually quite an impressive free skater in terms of musicality, speed and footwork. And as far as i know, he can land the jumps as well. http://www.isufs.org/events/fsevent00010969.htm | |

| Big congrats to Tessa & Scott's training mates, Maia and Alex Shibutani! I really enjoy this team and think Maia might be the only dancer/pair skater that everyone hopes has a HUGE growth spurt... Hopefully there'll be a youtube link to their FD (and Ralph/Hill's) since I think they're being broadcast tomorrow on a French channel. | |
